Creche Ropponmatsu is a Japanese kindergarten for children aged 0 to 5 located in one of the residential areas in Japan. This kindergarten has become so popular due to the amazing interior and exterior design developed by Emmanuelle Moureaux.
This talented artist designed the exterior and interior space, graphical signage and logos with a vision that her children can grow and develop healthily and freely. This kindergarten features multiple colors which should raise sensibility in kids who view many different colors wherever they are.
On the facade, the artist used 22 colors to create 63 colorful trees that wrap the building with their branches. She also added full-sized windows to let the air in and give the feeling of openness while the trees gently protect the children inside the building.
There are 25 colors with over 200 colorful personal boxes in the nursery where children can store their toys and other belongings so that they can easily find the box of their color. There are 18 more colors on the stairs, and the colors change as children go up and down the stairs.
The logo of the kindergarten has colorful trees as well. Children have the logo on their uniforms and kindergarten bus has it printed as well for the sense of unity.
Emmanuelle Moureaux says that spending time in a spacious and colorful room increases creativity and sensitivity of children and allows their personalities to shine. When kids are surrounded by colors, children can develop sensibilities and individuality.
